About the Town of Danvers

Originally named Salem Village, the Town of Danvers is most popularly known for its involvement in the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 and the Rebecca Nurse Homestead (the former home of a woman who was convicted of witchcraft) is a visitable historic landmark, popular among tourists. 

The Danvers River runs along the southeast corner of the town and it is paralleled by the Ipswich River along the western border. Located almost exactly halfway between New Hampshire and Downtown Boston, Danvers is often the connection between the northern Massachusetts and the amenities of downtown life. 

The population of Danvers is relatively small (a bit more that 25,000), due to the expansive space between homes, unlike the more metropolitan suburbs in the direct Boston Area. Though the diversity in the area could use some work, there is a lot of diversity in family style.
