About the Town of Lexington

The Town of Lexington is one of the most historic and desirable family neighborhoods in Massachusetts. Lexington boasts the #2 school district in Massachusetts and is home to one of the most famous battles of the Revolutionary War: The Battle of Lexington and Concord. The site of this historic battle is now referred to as the Battle Green and can be seen in the photo above.

Lexington is rather large for a suburb, due to its high desirability rate. The population count is just over 30,000 and most of these citizens are part of family households. The diversity in Lexington is better than many local areas and is home to many immigrants, making the culture of the town interesting and unique. The median home price in Lexington is about $975,000 and the homes are primarily historic or built to fit the historic feel of the town. The houses are large and beautiful, and are one of the highlights of living in this town.

There are many things to see and do in Lexington including many historic tourist destinations, wonderful restaurants, local activities and one of the cutest town centers in the area. The town center is lined with brick and cobblestone, adding to the historic feel of the town and you can even see vintage town photos in the window of the local CVS!

Buckman Tavern

Located across the street from the Battle Green, the Buckman Tavern is one of the most historic sites in Lexington. Built in the 1700s, the tavern witnessed the Battle of Lexington and Concord and was one of the favored spots for the militiamen.

The interior of the tavern is largely the same, and has been restored throughout the years to preserve the historic charm.
