Exploring Faneuil Hall

Called the “Cradle of Liberty”, Faneuil Hall has been a prominent meeting location for residents and visitors to Boston and a center point of commerce for the city.

In 1742 Peter Faneuil, of Boston’s wealthiest merchants, built Faneuil Hall as a gift to the city. The First Town Hall Meeting was held there.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace is located on the Freedom Trail. There are countless bars, shops, and restaurants. Go explore to find your favorite!
