Melrose was known first as Ponde Fielde due to the abundance of ponds and streams. It was also called Mystic Side since it is located to the north of the Mystic River. The city got its name from the borough in Melrose, Scotland.

Middlesex Fells Reservation - Spanning more than 2000 acres, this
nature preserve is one of the most beautiful spots in Middlesex County. In

Ell Pond - Another gorgeous spot to get outside in Melrose, Ell Pond is one
of the largest natural features of the city itself, and features. You can walk
