The North End
This neighborhood of Boston is the area’s oldest residential community. And wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Devon says, Modern!

North End History
The North End isn’t just a neighborhood—it’s Boston’s oldest story brought to life. Since the 1600s, its narrow, winding streets have been home to revolutionaries, immigrants, and visionaries who shaped the city’s identity. From Paul Revere’s midnight ride to the waves of Italian immigrants who transformed it into “Little Italy,” every corner echoes with history. Today, historic churches and brick tenements stand alongside bustling cafés and trattorias, blending Old World charm with the vibrant energy of modern Boston.

Dining in the North End
Some of our Favorite Restaurants: Literally all in a row on that same famous street.... Hanover!

Nando: You won’t find better food and hospitality then at (our dear friend’s eatery) Nando. Sal and Mira aim to please and its always first-class. You are treated like king and queen of the North End in this top notch Italian hot spot. Even their tiny little bar is adorable.

Only a few doors down is Strega. Manga....their veal chop can’t be beat. And you can watch the Godfather and Good fellas while feasting on your homemade pasta. Ask for Carlo. One of the best food servers in the North End. May we suggest the Cacio e Pepe prepared at the table. This is Roman pasta dish that translates to “cheese and pepper”. The simple dish consists of spaghetti, black pepper and Pecorino Romano (and in our case a little butter too!)
Mare, is another favorite. We thought we were in heaven as we sipped their excellent Barolo wine, and dined on their truly exceptional lobster pasta. This place is hard to beat. Make your reservations well in advance.
